The JUGA team has released an upgrade to the JUGA System Plugin for Joomla 1.5.x. The new version is v1.51b and it is available in My Downloads. It is only necessary for users of Joomla 1.5.x.
This is a minor release. While it isn’t critical, we recommend you make the upgrade. It addresses two issues:
- Notice: Array to string conversion ….. on line 59
- Getting locked out of your site
We’re still working on a full re-write of JUGA that we think you’ll all be happy with once it is finished.
Thanks again for all the feedback!

JUGA is actively being re-written as we speak which is why we’ve delayed releasing these code blocks to you all. But that decision has actually created more work for us while we’re busy developing, so we’ve decided to go ahead and release some simple code blocks for you to use for creating your own custom modules and plugins to extend JUGA on your website.
This means that with just a simple plugin (like JUMI, for example) you could create a hidden module that executes any of this code on your logged in users… For those of you who are more ambitious, with this code you could create a Joomla! user-plugin that executes upon certain of Joomla!’s user events (such as onLogin, onLogout, etc)…
So, without further ado, we’re opening up a "Development" section for JUGA and will be populating it over the next few days.
Hope you enjoy it!
And PLEASE take a look at the disclaimer!

Hey all!
We just wanted to give you a quick update that things are running a little behind schedule with the next release, but it should be out in the next few days (and considering some of the things it can do, it’s worth the wait… we may post some screenshots for you…)
The delays are primarily because we’ve decided to do some dramatic re-writes of our code. We’re doing this across all of our components for a few reasons:
- We’re implementing plugin systems in all of our components so that should YOU want a functionality that can be easily written, you can write a traditional Joomla! plugin for it (and maybe post it for others on the JED!). The first of our components to use one is SYNK, and BILLETS will be the next. (JUGA, MANGA, AMBRA, SCRIBA, HOMEBASE, and DEREVO will also use them)
- We’re standardizing our code across our components so that it’s easier for US to manage them across teams AND so that APIs are easier to publish for YOU
- We’re pushing much of our component activity into library files that are essentially wrappers, which allows us to quickly and easily publish our components for each of the Mambo/Joomla versions out there in the ether…
- We’re making all of our components use each platform’s language system natively…
So, as you can see, we’re really busy, but if you trust us, we pomise that this investment of a little bit of time and effort NOW will present better, more powerful components *faster* in the future.
We can’t wait for your feedback on all the new components and upgrades coming out in the next couple weeks!
Thanks!
