TOPIC: default access for new items

default access for new items 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi,

Is it possible to set the default access for new content items?

In my test site, every time I go to add a news item, it has to be sync'ed and flex'ed.

My publisher users don't have admin access, so they can't manage the juga groups and item is visible to.

The way it seems to work, they even get access denied for their own news article immediately after it is saved.

Essentially, I have a few items I would like to restrict, but then I would like everything else, and anything newly added to be visible to anyone.

Is it possible?

I picked one of the com_content items and told it to exclude the entire options. Now all new content is excluded from juga while the specific items I wanted to restrict are still included.

Of course this means that I can't restrict any com_content items so it would still be nice to know if there is a way to set the default for new items to be Public Access.

Unfortunately no.

There is no way to set a default at this time.

I am with you and think with an "Negative Access" system like Juga, it makes sense to also have a default setting or group.

I think that juga would be better as a Positive Access system myself. Which means that everyone would have access to everything unless you specifically deny it.

But with the Negative Access, it is a bit of a pain to have to add everything to juga.
