Use JUGA on the Admin-side |
Now with JUGA you have full JUGA control over your Administrator
Control Panel. When using the JUGA-enabled Admin Template (for J!1.0 *only* -- JUGA's controls extend automatically over the J!1.5 Admin-side when you publish the JUGA System Plugin) you can use the same familiar JUGA component
to restrict Administrator access to specific pages within the control
panel.

Install the JUGA-Enabled Admin Template
|
|
If you are using Joomla! 1.0.x, you must first install the JUGA-enabled Admin Template. After installing it, you must activate it under the Administrator Templates menu.
You do NOT need to do this if you are using Joomla! 1.5.x
|
|
Set the JUGA-enabled Admin Template as your default.
|
 |
JUGA does not restrict users who are part of the Joomla! Core->Super Administrators Group, so assign any managers you'd like to restrict to the Joomla! Core->Administrators Group.

Configuring JUGA for your Admin Side
To configure JUGA for optimum use on your admin-side, follow these instructions:
- In JUGA>>Groups, create at least two groups, one for "Administrators" and one for "Super Administrators". Make sure you fill in all fields as they're all required.
- In JUGA>>Configuration, assign each of those groups to the default_juga_admin and juga_super_admin variables.
- In JUGA>>Site Items, filter by "Admin-Side" in the drop-down box.
- Assign *all* of your Admin-Side items to the "Administrators" group. You may have multiple pages of Site Items, so confirm that you've done them all. You may want to increase the number of items displayed per page.
- Assign your Administrators to the JUGA->Administrators Group and your Super Administrators to the JUGA->Super Administrators Group in JUGA>>Assign Users
At this point, JUGA is now configured and will work as if it wasn't even turned on. Your Adminsitrators are in the same JUGA Group as the default group, so as new Site Items are created, they will have access to them. Your Super Admin will always have access no matter what.
If you want some of your users to have very specific Admin access rights, simply create a new group for them and grant them access to whichever SIte Items you want. Remember that they will need access also to your `com_admin` (your admin-side homepage) so don't forget to give them at least that!
